About Us
Triple H Ranch: A dream brought to life in the open, furtile, fields of northeast Iowa. Built on a lifelong love for animals and a faith-centered belief that God uses His creations to bring healing, growth, and purpose into our lives.
It began growing up as a farmers daughter, that's how she learned the disciplined routine that animals require everyday. Come rain, snow or storm, our animals depend on us. As she grew into adulthood and had a daughter of her own, Manda Slessor had her prayers answered. She had finally saved up enough money to buy her own farm. THR started in 1999 and has been lovingly transformed from ground up by Manda and a long list of dedicated friends, volunteers, and staff who share a deep passion for animals of all kinds.
Before the equine, Manda started a zoological farm that brought something special to her rural community. She poured her heart and soul into those animals and for 20 years, her place was home to over 50 different species.
Tragically, when Manda suffered a severe injury, she was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome most of zoo animals and focus on healing. It felt like the end, but God never left her side and His love gave her the strength to start over.
Our current season began with yet another blessing, a beautiful, kind hearted, Friesian mare named Guenivere, whose arrival marked the foundation of our equine program. Manda had always loved horses and was passionate about training, driving and riding. With her Zoo animals rehomed, she poured herself into starting a Friesian Sporthorse and equinetraining facility. Over time, she expanded to include Gypsy horses and minis as well, shaping Triple H Ranch into the program it is today.
With a lifelong devotion to animals and decades of hands-on experience, Triple H Ranch is committed to raising horses with strong foundations, thoughtful handling, and kind minds. A select number of horses and foals are offered each year, each raised with care, intention, and pride.
About the Owners
Manda Slessor-Ryherd and Dean Ryherd are the driving force behind Triple H Ranch. Friends for over 20 years, their shared love for animals, hard work, and farm life laid the foundation for both their partnership and the ranch they proudly steward today. They were married in 2024, uniting not only their lives but their shared vision for
Triple H Ranch.
Both Manda and Dean were raised on farms, where they learned early the value of dedication, resilience, and responsibility. Their Christian faith guides their lives and their work, shaping the way they care for their animals, land, and community.
Known for their strong work ethic and willingness to take on any challenge, they are deeply hands-on in every aspect of the ranch. From daily care to maintenance and ongoing renovations, no task is too hard or too small. Their shared drive and ambition is what binds them together, making them a true force behind everything Triple H Ranch represents.
